Adam took his Black Templars which he focused into a very shooty army also. While I was able to pump out more shots then him, he had the advantaged of longer range weaponry. He had the Aegis defense line and a skyfire gun that made short work of my flyers. I made some bad target priority choices and had punched my ticket to Brown Town pretty early on in this game. By the end of it I had a squad of 10 Warriors and nothing else. I'm pretty sure Adam still had 80% of his forces. Things were fairly even until about turn 3 or 4 when I lost an assault and got swept up by his Emperor's Champion and then had my Deathmark unit get smoked. Without those two units I lost a lot of shooting and never stood a chance at denting Adams massed wall of shooting. I was far too aggressive with an army that did not have the firepower to back up my advance.

Now that I've gotten some games in and tried out some units that I never had a chance to use in the last edition (I still need to give Praetorians a try) I'm going to bring back some of the things I know worked well in 5th. Annihilation Barge, Douche Canoe, maybe the Monolith, and of course Wraiths.
Speaking of Wraiths, I painted mine. I've used the patina and burnished gold colors from my vehicles for these guys. As I've used this technique more I have modified it. Originally I just used a patina wash, then I added dry brushing some bronze over that. Now I've taken it another step and hit the patina areas with a yellow glaze. It helps the effect blend together. The patina on my first models was just a bleeding effect and now its full blown tarnished. The model doesn't stand out as well as I would like (its pretty dark) but it fits with my army and I'm pretty happy with it overall.
Next up I'm working on my flyers. I've got a good start on them so it won't take me too long...I hope.
