Quick update

I'm working on a couple of things right now and work is going to be crazy so I'm throwing up this quick post of random robot thoughts before I forgot.

First and foremost I played a game against Atom's Chaos last night.  I am sure Atom will go in-depth on the subject on his blog because he took pictures and notes!  It was the first time I faced off with my Necrons against an army that is good in assault and has good armor saves.  The game ended in a draw (by the skin of my teeth).  Basically, Atom came at me the entire game and I held him off at the expense of nearly my entire army (in a stunning change of fortune I couldn't pass a reanimation roll this game).  By the end there were a few exhausted dudes on my objective and his unit of plague marines on the other (with a sprinkling of random bikers and terminators scattered around).  Unless it went to turn 12, there wasn't anything going to change about that game.

This game brought to the forefront my need to add or change a few things.  My current list is great against IG because I don't need to worry about assault or his puny armor saves, against Chaos...I need something else.  I took out the deathmarks and added an annihilation barge (that was good), but beside that the list was mostly unchanged from my game with Karl.  I have no real answer in assault (mindshackle scarabs are awesome and highly effective but honestly that's the only thing my army has going for it), and against high armor infantry I can't do shit.  Atom couldn't fail a save despite the torrent of fire I threw at him.  With the release of the wraith, spyder, tomb blades, and stalker kits I'm hoping to add a bit more firepower and assault capabilities (most likely by removing the monolith from my list).

Currently I'm finishing up my re-paint of the monolith and a few more Cryptek models.  After that the robot assembly factory is going to fire up!
