I also want to briefly talk about the Horus Heresy novels. I've gone in an out of phases of reading these books. Some are great, some are good...and some are awful (I'm looking at you any book concerning dark angels). I finished Betrayer awhile back and it got me into the series again. It was fun, had good characters and took a legion and primarch (world eaters and Angron) whom I previously thought were shallow 1 dimensional characters and fleshed them out. Last weekend I finished up Vulkan Lives. Besides not really being into Salamanders the book was pretty...bleh. First off, why do these Horus Heresy novels always seem to have almost no climax or resolution? It's like they have a page number goal and when they get there, they just stop. I understand that they want to make about 3000 more books in the series but give me something at the end of the book that satisfies. Finally, as I said before I liked Betrayer because they took a somewhat flat set of characters and rounded them out, defined them. Why can't they do that with the Word Bearers and Night Lords? Both Legions and their Primarchs just seem like whinny little cunts. I mean is Erebus supposed to seem like the only bad guy who isn't stupid? I've started reading the First Heretic which is about the Word Bearers...again. Man, I hope they give a little juice to some of these characters.
Finally, here is my latests whore test. Back in the day I had a nurgle chaos army, so in the dark reaches of my heart I always had a soft spot for them. When these plague drones came out last year I almost got them just to paint them. I finally broke down and got some off of ebay. I will most likely try and sell them, but I'm petty happy with the way they turned out. Really cool models.
