Night Shroud Bomber

For my July commitment I changed up my list and added a night shroud bomber.  I will most likely be dropping the tomb blades or special characters from my list to add this little guy and a maybe another Forge World toy I picked up.  I'm not exactly sure yet, I'm going to see how painting goes.  Right now I'm finishing stuff off quickly and I have a few other things in various stages of completion.  I also committed to finishing off 5 more death marks that I started along with the 10 immortals from last month.  Those guys aren't done yet, but I should finish them by the end of July without an issue.

I've kept my normal scheme for the bomber, however I've changed a few things.  First, I ran out of all my old GW metal paints so I had to switch to the new ones.  Now instead of 5 different metal paints there are like 12.  It took my some experimentation to find the right ones to get my desired look.  Now the colors of my patina, rust, and tarnished gold don't look exactly the same as my other models its not far off and since my goal is to create the look of a long decayed army I think some variation is acceptable.  I've also tried to go a little heavier with the rust effect on my silver.  The effect looks nice in person, but seems to photograph much redder than it actually appears.

Forge World also has some interesting looking aged metal effects on its Necron vehicles that I want to try and incorporate in my future projects.  I just hope I can do so while still using the colors I do in order to keep a cohesive color mix.

You can see my older vehicles look much darker.

While I was never a huge fan of the nigh scythe design, compared to the forge world one they look a touch more silly.  I really want to find extra cockpit canopy's, the open air pilot look is kinda dumb.

Forget to paint the finial two links of the wing tips gold? But yeah, green is darker on the older ones and the gold isn't as shiney. Still looks really good though!

I didn't want to paint the tips gold because of the side pieces...I figured it would be too much gold. The newer gold is less shiny, but it does resemble tarnished gold a bit more so I'm happy with that.
