Karl hooked me up with a new 'puter recently so I returned the favor by painting up one of his Chimera's (I will probably do a few more vehicles for him in the future). Karl wanted the simple cathachan camo scheme (green, khaki, and some black). I used the kylon camo paints to achieve this rather quickly. First, I painted the whole thing khaki. Then I covered the would be stripy areas with poster putty.
After that I sprayed on the green, and hand painted on the black along the edges of the putty. It was pretty simple really. In the future I want to make the strips smaller, but use more of them.
Besides some detail work with the guns and the tracks I did some highlighting and then applied some weathering techniques. The mud and rust effects I tried to create didn't show up as much as I wanted, probably because of the darker colors and how the camo mixes up the colors to begin with. The mud and such just get lost. Next time I plan on being a bit more aggressive with it. All in all not to bad for my first attempt at camo. I can't want to paint more shit that will kill my poor innocent angels.
